As we approach the end of 2020 many are thinking about the possibilities of a world rebooted and dreaming of a better world. Life itself may seem especially precious, and we may be pondering what we give our time and energy to.  Are you waiting for your dreams to become a reality? Have you suffered setbacks or frustrations, or do you feel that your dreams have died? Has God given you a dream for the role you might play in the family of God?

God uses dreams (not just literal dreams but passions or vision) and words of prophecy or wisdom to guide us into our unique identity and calling. Our calling or vocation…comes from listening; listening to our lives and trying to understand what they are about.”

—  from ‘Let your life speak: Listening for the voice of Vocation’ by Parker J. Palmer

  • Pray about how God might be at work in your experience (remembering that Jesus himself was no stranger to desert places).

  • Listen to this talk from the recent 24/7 Prayer Gathering in which John Mark Comer describes how, as we wait or suffer setbacks, God is at work in us.
